The María Pagés Choreographic Center presents “Conscience and Desire” as part of the opening of the new Christian Louboutin and Rossy De Palma Flamencaba collection, inspired by the art of flamenco.
Conciencia y deseo is a flamenco choreography about desire. It narrates the ideal of living as a primordial existential challenge and an eternal vocation to feed our search for good utopias.
Scenically, this dance proposal, born from the admiration of María Pagés and El Arbi el Harti for Rossy de Palma and Christian Louboutin, vindicates the poetry of movement, the harmony of dance, the strength of bodies and the energy of aesthetic passion, the flamenco soul and Spanish joy. The dance in it, transforms the vital breath that brings us the awareness of living in life as a generous, hospitable and primordial party.
The choreographic sequences of Conciencia y deseo, a flamenco flashmob, are fast and energetic, sometimes sharp, sometimes undulating and seductive. They are choreographies that are made and unmade almost in the rhythmic manner of a slide projector or the best descriptive cinema of Jean Jacques Annaud. The constant tension between the individual and the group, the circle and the straight line, the argument and the abstraction, the silence and the percussion is sought in them.
