Convinced of the role that dance can play in the education of citizenship values, the CCMP develops the SOMEONE OPENS A DOOR CYCLE. These are playful and interactive workshops aimed at raising awareness about coexistence and social integration.
Inspired by the poetic thought of Walt Whitman, Miguel Hernández, Akiko Yosano, Margaret Atwood, María Pagés and El Arbi El Harti, accompanied by their dancers and musicians, they develop a work built around the idea of an agora, a space where flamenco dance, music and spirit are transformed into a human force that generates listening, complicity and exchange.
Our goal in this minstrelsy dialogue that collects the old original flamenco hospitality is always to seek empathy, affection, emotion and emotional and rational reactivity of the women who participate in it. It is a dance, musical and theatrical pedagogical workshop where each and every one of the components of the Company takes part. It is built from a creative, participative, inclusive and integrating perspective.
The action of both María Pagés and the rest of her artists is developed from the awareness that we are all part of a collective project where the women who participate are the true center of the development of the formative and at the same time playful and festive action and of the wonderful moments of coexistence that the workshop allows them. Maria and her artists are only vectors of empathy, solidarity and hospitality whose ultimate goal is the complex task of erasing the lines that separate the “I” from the “You” and the “We” from the “You”.
