The aim of the programme is to support, promote and stimulate choreographic creation projects in all its disciplines and aspires to encourage artistic research and creation on a national and international level.

The alliance of the María Pagés Choreographic Centre and the Fuenlabrada Town Council vindicates dance as one of the essential expressions of culture in Spain, at the same time as it encourages research, creation and reflection on it.

Assuming the responsibility that this entails, the CCMP organises the IV Choreographic Residencies of Fuenlabrada, thus applying its founding principles that have as their lifeblood the accompaniment of creators, especially emerging ones.

The programme supports choreographic creation projects in all its disciplines, admitting multidisciplinarity. It seeks to promote dance, fostering spaces for creation and bringing it closer to the public, through open rehearsals and exhibitions of creative processes and meetings, both at the CCMP and at the Josep Carreras Theatre.

After the success of the first, second and third editions, the CCMP will host a maximum of 16 projects by 2024, including 4 research residencies, 4 creation residencies, 3 technical residencies and 5 whale project residencies, with a duration of between one and three weeks for each modality. In addition, we continue to support young talents with the creation of the Whale Project category aimed at young creators in search of spaces to create, research or perform.

The IV Choreographic Residencies of Fuenlabrada are not just about providing spaces. Its principles rest ethically on a broader conceptual basis, integrating the accompaniment of artists, training, the defence of dance, mediation with new audiences and the necessary creation of community.
