The María Pagés Choreographic Center of Fuenlabrada brings together great personalities from film, dance, journalism and medicine to vindicate dance as a common heritage that must be protected.
A long list of professionals have made a video tribute to artists, choreographers and choreographers.
The María Pagés Choreographic Center of Fuenlabrada, a project launched two years ago thanks to an agreement reached with the Fuenlabrada City Council, has created a video for the second consecutive year to commemorate International Dance Day, founded by Unesco to “celebrate dance, delight in the universality of this art form, cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers and unite people with a common language”.
Last year’s video focused on dance professionals. This year professionals from the world of cinema, music, journalism and sport pay tribute to them and accompany them in the common struggle for the recognition of dance as a dignified profession and a common heritage..,
In dance, as in society, we need a political system that ensures the common good within a common home, which recognizes the uniqueness of those who compose it. The survival of dance companies requires strategic vision and support from their politicians and institutions.
