CACHUCHA NOT JUST A SPANISH DANCE

Cachucha-Not Just a Spanish Dance is an interdisciplinary and transnational democratic collaborative art project. The collaborating artists that are part of the project are Emilio Manzano, stage director and artist, Dolma Jover, performer, dance teacher and independent researcher, Mihaela Kavdanska, visual artist, Adriana Torres, costume designer, Amaia Miranda, composer.
These contemporary artists initiate a process of collaborative research on Cachucha Dance and our relationship with it. They aspire to know and communicate how, where and under what conditions dance moves and moves us. In short, they develop a praxeological reflection on the materials, forms and meanings of the Cachucha Dance and at the same time, deepen the concepts of Otherness, gender designs, placements and cultural displacements related to this dance.
On the other hand, the project dives into corporeal and theoretical analysis using their compositional methodology called kinetic negotiation process, built around relationships and variations. With this method they want to explore the different channels of transversal thinking and transdisciplinary experience that allows them the possibility of thinking the different intersections of the Cachucha dance materials in space and time.
This project is born with the intention of creating a dialogue and an interdisciplinary crossroads that motivates thought and encourages creative and creative activity. Here the Cachucha is thought of as an engine of corporealities and a reflection of societies. It is an artistic project that aims to rework the narratives, signs and cultural and historical symbols inherited through time.
