Through the workshop Alegrías for Mexico, the dancer Eva Varela, a disciple of María Pagés, will work with the students on all the flamenco rhythms for an optimal knowledge of the meter, emphasizing the initiation of foot and arm techniques.
These workshops are aimed at students of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) who wish to learn flamenco dance from the knowledge of its philosophy and technique. Dancing in an ideal way requires the learning of basic dance skills. These are essential to internalize and develop the coordination of movements.
Dancing, undoubtedly, allows us to know ourselves through the assumption of our body and its faculties.
This activity is part of the cycle Conversations in Fuenlabrada. Un cuerpo como día derramado which aim to bring closer artists from both sides of the Atlantic through a series of conversations with choreographer and director, María Pagés.
